Gumtree flourished and was purchased by eBay in May 2005.

Gumtree is now the largest online community in London with sites all over the UK, and is also used by thousands more before they arrive in the UK. It is now London’s largest flat share and jobsite, with visitor numbers doubling every 6 months.
